WORKSHOPS

For nearly a decade, Lisette Ros has developed and delivered creative programs, workshops, and performative lectures that merge artistic research with knowledge exchange. Her practice is deeply rooted in exploring the construction of identity, gender performativity, the fluidity of self-perception, and the invisible structures that shape daily life. Through workshops such as ‘The Construction of Identity’, ‘The Fluidity Thereof’, ‘Your Self?’, and ‘Your Roots’, she creates collective spaces where participants engage in critical inquiry, embodiment, and cultural reflection.

Her latest workshop, ‘Your Roots’, emerges as part of her ongoing research and upcoming work, My Self, the (Unfamiliar) Roots. In collaboration with Arthood Collective in Amsterdam, this workshop invites participants to use their own bodies as tools, (re)sources, and vessels to explore and extract a ‘Piece of Roots’. Having recently returned from Indonesia, Ros brings fresh perspectives on the dialogues surrounding identity and heritage, which serve as catalysts for the workshop’s development. By fostering a safe, open, and intimate space, she works closely with each participant, emphasizing personal attention and the freedom to engage with one’s own creativity, body, and individuality.

As part of the start-up team for the School of Performance Art (SOPA) in Germany, Ros contributes to developing a platform for experimental, inclusive, and interdisciplinary performance practices. In August 2025, she will lead ‘The Time’, a new workshop at KEFIRSSTUDIO’s Simbioze Residency in Latvia. Her freelance work in (primary) education in The Netherlands and ongoing collaborations in Indonesia reflect her dedication to intercultural exchange.

Ros is also co-initiating OMAH, a platform exploring the historically entangled ecosystems of Indonesia and The Netherlands. Through partnerships, artist residencies, and (institutional) collaborations, she fosters long-term artistic dialogues, challenging conventional narratives and embracing new modes of perception.

Through this ongoing integration of artistic practice, education, and cultural exchange, Ros seeks to challenge conventional narratives, question box-thinking, and explore new modes of perception—both individually and collectively.
